Cahaba Riverkeeper is an affiliate of Waterkeeper Alliance, a global movement of community-based advocates united for clean, healthy, and abundant water for all. We serve our jurisdiction, the Cahaba River watershed, with 195 miles of river and 1,870 square miles of drainage area that includes Jefferson, Shelby, Bibb, Perry, and Dallas Counties in central Alabama.
Cahaba Riverkeeper was founded in 2009 to DEFEND the ecological integrity of the Cahaba River and its watershed, to ENSURE clean water and a healthy aquatic environment, and to PRESERVE the recreational and aesthetic values of the river basin.
