The Environmental Leadership Program is a 10-week long summer program, consisting of high school students throughout the Cahaba River watershed. The program was created in response to a lack of career-based environment programs for high school students within Alabama, specifically the Greater Birmingham area. This program aims to provide high school students with the opportunity to become more involved and more knowledgeable about their local environment.

Our hope is to create a comprehensive program that will provide a space for interested students located around the Cahaba River watershed to learn what their local environmental sector looks like in Birmingham, and to provide insights into college and career opportunities. There will also be multiple scholarship opportunities at the end of the program which the students will be able to put towards furthering their education and career goals.
